A happy, safe, physically distant, but socially connected Earth Day from all of us at CommUniverCity!
In keeping with the spirit of sustainability, CommUniverCity is assembling garden education kits for 4th through 6th graders for distribution to families in Central San Jose this month. We’ll be growing carrots, cauliflower, kale, and beans.
We are also working with local government agencies and school partners on our innovative Watershed-in-a-Box environmental science education kits. Led by students in SJSU’s Environmental Resource Center, over 230 students learned about water quality, flood preparedness, and the impact of development on our water resources this past year. This project plans to reach out to even more students and classrooms next year.
