Happy Trails!

Last Saturday, our Pathways: Friends of Five Wounds/ Brookwood Terrace (FWBT) Trails cleaned up the Five Wounds Trail along Coyote Creek thanks to the partnership of organizations including Clean Creeks, Healthy Communities, Save Our Trails, and the Downtown Streets Team. 34 volunteers collaborated to clean up the southern part of the Five Wounds Trail from the Olinder Dog Park by Selma Olinder Park to Story Road. With our volunteers’ help, we collected 55 bags of trash along the trail. We found no graffiti during the clean up.

We are grateful for our volunteers for dedicating their Saturday morning towards a cleaner Coyote Creek and a healthier community. Thank you especially Clean Creeks, Healthy Communities for hosting the clean up and to Kim Thai for sharing the photos above.

Volunteers do not need to live in the FWBT neighborhood to appreciate the importance of keeping our neighborhoods vibrant, healthy, and safe. Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Roosevelt Community Center, 901 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose, CA 95116. We will invite our new county Supervisor Cindy Chávez, and our representatives on the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority and Santa Clara Valley Water District Board of Directors. We will be sharing good news about progress towards our trail, so stay tuned for our updates.

  1. This is truly a great initiative to clean up and garbage collection Blackfoot from southern part of the Five Wounds Trail from the Olinder Dog Park by Selma Olinder Park to Story Road. The collaboration of 34 volunteers is quite appreciating. The volunteers are dedicated enough to clean Creeks, Healthy Communities for hosting the clean up and to Kim Thai for sharing the photos above.
