How will you pay for college? We hope to inspire and share with you resources and knowledge on how to save and prepare for college.<\/p>\n

On Friday, October 11, 2013, we will be joining schools in Santa Clara County for the 3rd Annual\u00a0Ng\u00e0y H\u1ed9i \u0110\u1ea1i H\u1ecdc<\/a> \u2013 a county-wide college-going effort \u2013 where students in elementary, middle, and high schools will participate in interactive activities to inspire and support their aspirations for a college education. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cCollege: There is Always a Way to Pay,\u201d and activities will center on financial literacy and financial aid information.<\/p>\n

College Day will also host a new Family and Community Conference<\/a> on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at\u00a0San Jos\u00e9 State University.<\/p>\n

This free conference will include a \u201cCollege Fair,\u201d with representatives from numerous colleges.<\/p>\n

Attendees can also participate in multiple workshops on topics such as \u201cCollege Knowledge\u201d and \u201cHow Financial Aid Works.\u201d\u00a0 Participants will learn how to complete a FAFSA or California Dream Act application.\u00a0 A \u201cCollege Success Lab,\u201d with CSU\/UC admissions experts will be available all day to assist high school seniors and their families.\u00a0 Sessions will be presented in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.<\/em> To register, visit: http:\/\/www.collegeday.org\/registration-familyconference<\/a>.\u00a0If you have questions about the Family and Community Conference, please email\u00a0Fernanda Karp at fernanda.karp@sjsu.edu.<\/p>\n

CommUniverCity San Jos\u00e9 is part of the volunteer-led First-Generation College Attainment Coalition. We will engage schools in Central San Jos\u00e9 neighborhoods for College Day, and will help with the\u00a0Family and Community Conference.
