Working alongside residents, faculty, students, and community partners, we support community-driven initiatives that promote educational opportunity, healthy environments, and neighborhood empowerment.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br><\/span><b>Position Overview<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Marketing and Communications Specialist will assist with internal\/external communications and branding of the organization. The Specialist documents and promotes the work of CommUniverCity-affiliated students, faculty, staff, and partners to external and internal stakeholders. The Specialist will write compelling stories to further CommUniverCity\u2019s goals of promoting community health and environmental protection, fostering a college-going culture, and improving neighborhood infrastructure. Working with the Executive Director and Leadership Team your work will inform and inspire our audiences to take part in making San Jos\u00e9 a vibrant place to live, study, and work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Independently create content for internal and external communications while adhering to CommUniverCity and SJSU brand guidelines<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spearhead social media strategy and content creation across multiple platforms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend organization events to capture photographs and conduct interviews<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create flyers and other collateral materials using graphic design skills and content provided by Project Coordinators<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Curate impactful content for CommUniverCity&#8217;s website<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Write and edit blog posts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Produce monthly newsletters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support presentation development and delivery at the monthly Steering Committee meetings<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contribute to the creation and production of the organization&#8217;s Annual Report<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Required Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MUST be a current SJSU student in academic good standing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Must be a Fall 2027 graduate or later<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Authorized to work in the U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides) and Canva<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Familiarity with various social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span
