Small-Business Training for Entrepreneurial Progress

This is a new program we are proposing this year, and is similar to our established YEA program for K-12 children. This program will specifically work with local small business owners and connect them with business students and faculty for specific training needed to run small businesses (3 leadership Workshops). Topics will include leadership skills, effective communication, team building, task delegation, and networking and collaboration building in local business communities.

In collaboration with CommUniverCity and ARSCSBA, SJSU’s Business School Professor Pamela Wells and her students in BUS 161A (Applied Organizational Behavior) will be hosting three Leadership Training Workshops for local business leaders and community members.

The workshops will be held in the Boccardo Business Center (BBC) at SJSU and participation costs are fully covered thanks to the generous support of the Cathay Bank Foundation and a CommUniverCity Founders Fund endowment established by the former Associate Dean of SJSU’s Business School, Dr. Stephen Kwan, and his wife, Amy Kwan.
