Money magazine awards San José State University one of the America´s best colleges, with a general rate of 4.5 stars. The complete list, published in June 2023, resulted in a list of 736 colleges “where tuition is likely to pay off.”

In the Bay Area, only Stanford University and UC Berkeley received the 5 stars.

In 2020, San José State University was already awarded The Most Transformative College in the U.S. and CommUniverCity was then mentioned by that magazine, “Thousands of graduates are employed by top tech companies like Apple and Cisco, Del Casino [SJSU provost] says. Aside from the tech industry, the students get hands-on experience with neighborhood projects and local organizations through the CommUniverCity program, and hundreds of students work in the mayor’s office.
